Ran across this and thought it may help some of you guys that have to reset your radio station settings.



Lifeline: The Lifeline® enables users of a Master Disconnect Switch to retain a small amount of power for memory circuits common in fuel injection computers, radio presets and clocks. The Lifeline® is completely “resetting” eliminating the need to replace a fuse when the user tries to start the vehicle before first switching the Master Disconnect to on. The Lifeline® is a memory circuit retainer that will automatically reset after the electrical load is significantly reduced or if the Master Disconnect Switch has been switched to the on position.

I'm sure that it could be made by someone, and not sure if it will work with 24v systems.

Thanks for posting that link.
We often do a bit of juggling to retain memory circuits when changing batts and alternators on p38 Range Rovers and such like.
These truck "no likey" abrupt losses of power ands screw with the Becm.
Currently we use a dry cell battery connected to the fag lighter
We will try one out.

Even before knowing about this Lifeline® I tried something similar (maybe VERY similar ) by putting an electronic component called "varistor" of appropriate specification across the batt disconnect switch.
It worked just fine, but - just like the Lifeline®, which is probably a varistor itself - could not keep the radio memory alive if I tried to start the vehicle before first switching the batt disconnect to on.
So I ended up by running the radio memory wire direct to the battery, trough a 1 amp circuit breaker. The memory stays alive even if the main disconnect switch is off , and if I need to save the battery should the vehicle be in storage for months, I just pull the 1 amp breaker.
