Leak in front of the front Diff

Post by todds112 »

Looks like lube is coming out of where the speedometer goes into the diff. There were no o-rings or seals in the cable or extension piece. I ordered those from SAV. Hard to tell but it looks like it's also leaking down inside too (where the speedo cover attaches to the diff).

There's no way to remove the speedo cover without pulling the entire front end off, is there?

Todd
In short no!
Most repairs can be done without a tear down by removing the quill shaft and holder held in place by a drive in locator pin.

Todd when my speed cable leaked it appeared that the front diff was leaking as well. I used black sealer just on the threads all signs of leaks have disappeared I never had any 0rings as well
