thought they had the roads into the area closed. The last time I was down there a couple weeks ago the road at Florence was still closed, did not check Cottonwood canyon road.

Mike we went in through the road just north of florence and came out cottonwood road, no closures just warnings of military vehicle traffic. We saw alot of quads and a few jeeps. If you get a chance to go out there the hills are covered in poppies and the stream is flowing.

Must have opened them up again. There has been a big push to close the roads when they are muddy. They say it is to minimize damage to the dirt roads. Personally I think it is just another way to stop us from accessing our public lands.

I already have a trip planned to Picacho peak. The state park there is one of the best places to view the desert flowers in wet years.
