Pinz, Haf and Mog gathering in So Cal

Post by David Dunn »

OK, this year's Pinz, Haf and Mog's gathering will be held in conjunction with the monthly meeting of the Southern California Military Vehicle Collector Club ( SCMVCC) meeting on Sunday June 8th.

Where I've had these gatherings at my shop in the past, due to conditions beyond my control, it will be held it at the AMVET of Irwindale , at 14910 Los Angeles St.

While the SCMVCC has their swap meet in the parking lot, European military type vehicles get to park in a large very nice treed grass area.

As in the past, admission is free....more details to follow

Hello All,
Sorry that I've been remiss in keeping everyone informed of this year's Pinz, Haf & Mog Gathering.
As many already may know, it is being held at The AmVet at 14910 Los Angeles St, Irwindale,CA, June 8th from 8ish to 3:00 PM . This is the typical meeting day for the SCMVCC, and they have graciously, allowed us the use of the shady grass area for those driving their Euro MV.. Unlike my shop, there is ample parking in the grass and the surrounding parking lot and street.

Here's mapquest to the location:
http://www.mapquest.com/maps/14910+Los+ ... indale+ca/

To get a tenative head count, and/or if you have any questions, email me at: dsd277@sbcglobal.net , and use "Gathering " in the subject line.

As in the past, you can bring parts for trade and sale.
And as a added bonus to those that like "grownup" drinks, the AmVet bar opens at 1

Sorry for the late reply. Thanks Jim for those pics. And thanks to all that attended.
As this was a kind of a "apprehensive" gatheriing ( in that this was a new venue for me, and the gathering and me were foreign to the club) it came off very well, and the club already has invited me to do this again!
I too was very happy with the way things went, other than I need to clean up my logistics of moving the "kitchen" and my MV iron to and from my shop.
As you can tell from Jim's pics, this was a great parklike location, with plenty of shade and a cool breeze.

If all goes as plan, I hope to have the next Gathering either the 2nd Sunday in either Febuary or March of '09.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to make for a better gathering, please email me.... and no, I won't pay anyone to come!

Off subject but was Andre selling a gas tank guard? Some real nice mogs. Dave can I ask what the kitchen you are talking about? Would it work for camping?

Erik
the 5th pic down was Andre's stuff, I didn't get to spend any time looking around.
The "kitchen" was the BBQ, coolers, fridge, table, pantry and everything else needed to feed everyone. I'm looking into making one of my trailers into mobile kitchen that can be stocked days in advanced, and keep everything cold and fresh, with minimal setup and teardown. As most know, I love my ARB fridge :D With an additional fridge and a Twozone add-on, I can sustain all the items that need refridgeration, and all the drinks, without ice.
