Jim L. bud Andre makes a real nice one i plan on ordering one from him later on in the year. He is on teh forum from time to time he's the one selling tee shirts in the for sell section of the forum. He made my bumper and was great to work with.

I use a yakima on my 712 along with a rack I built to hold the door tops
I also made a top for my 710 to hold the door tops and anything else, just because I was bored.

A picture of the rack Andre did for our 710M is on the Yahoo groups CalPinzclub Pictures, Gonzaga Bay section. I was so nice to put most of the gear up top, leaving over half of the back free for pasengers, or just getting to stuff.
Surprisingly it was not as top heavy as I had anticipated, although it did rock more in all directions with weight up there. I'm figuring the rack and braces total about 300 lbs and we probably had 3-500 lbs of gear and firewood up there, too.

I posed this question several months ago so check the past posts. The responses were mixed. Some folks suggested using "off the rack" products and others built their own custom items. I've also exchanged emails with a fellow in the UK who had a Pinz for sale on eBay and his firm (like Cold War or Thilo's) also did custom fabrication.
Bottom line, I think that if you can dream it up and find someone to build it for you, it can be done.

THanks guys - I have a bud here that is amazing - kind of a CHek Dennis Williams.
I just need pictures of some to show him. He can fabricate almost everything...ooops I take that back he can fabricate ANYTHING,
He is a machinist - heavy equipment mechanic - auot mechanic - welder - trapper - farmer - bow builder - well driller..well not enough time to mantion it all - Him and Dennis would get along just fine I think

first decide what you are wanting to carry in the rack. Then find one similar to those commercially available and have it built. If you fab guy has any skills he will be able to fit it to the truck. You have it easy with a K type vehicle but on the M's the use of the antenna bases work well. The only problem is they require holes in the canvas.
If I were to do one for a K, I think I would incorporate the features of this rack

Easier to load and unload. This would be very simple to duplicate on a Pinz and still look sharp.

Looks good. I was thinking of a trailer hitch mount rack. I would modify it so it ame up behind the tire though so you angle of approach is better.

As Mike points out, and others have in the past, if you can dream it up and you (or a friend) can weld, it can be done.
Unless you're hung up on originality (so that you can compete at Pebble Beach I guess) think about what you need, sketch it out, take some measurements, show it to a friend who welds and make it happen.
