sending unit

Post by pinzdriver »

First you did not have to pull the tank off to access the sending unit there is a small pnl in the upper right corner of the bed with 4 screws and you can get to it from there.
As for testing it you need a 24 volt test light turn on the key and with the test light and see if you get a pulse if so you may have a dead sending unit. You can also disasemble the unit and see if there is any broken wires in side too.
hope this helps

A real quick way to check is gound the sending unit wire and check for an empty reading, then open the sendin unit wire and check for a full tank reading. if that is what you get, then sending unit is bad, otherwise look at guage
