Distributor

Post by Boelt63A »

Well monsoon season has started here in Florida and I managed to fill the Distributor up with water resulting in a No GO situation.
Question is; the small brass valve in the vent line is clogged while I might be able to clear it given some time will it hurt to keep this out indefinately? I am sealing my civi cap a little better now as we speak. :?:

Don't do it......

#1 - If you trace the system you will see that you are creating a very nice intake leak by removing that valve. It will screw with your mixture and can cause you to run lean.

#2 - You will make the problem WORSE. You will be creating much MORE of a vacuum to pull humidity/condensation into the distributor. If the valve is clogged, clean it out, or cap the line. It would be better to run with it capped, than to run with the valve missing.
