Before it was the "Pink Cow"

Post by David Dunn »

While saving pics from a old computer, I came across some some pics of the Pink Cow, when it was just another 716K   , back in '02

Nice, very nice. All of them, but the Vampire and the 716 are a teeny bit nicer. Sweet fleet.

Dave,

Did you find rust in the seam between upper and lower body assemblies, other than in door bottoms?

Thanks Andy, The motorpool is ever changing :) . I still have 3 of those, and have added the Supacat and a Mighty Mite.... and to add to my affliction for small aircooled vehicles, I made a deal to acquire another Mite rolling chassis, 5 engines and a pile of other parts

Erik, The Swedish Pinzes were civilian, 12v systems, and I've seen 3 different colors, red, white and blue vehicles, with no clear definition of color to assigned duty. I believed the Pink Cow was a power company service truck.

Ugo, Long time, since I last heard from you. I hope all is right with your truck. The seams were fine when I took it apart. There was rust everyplace that holes were drilled into top section, but not at the folds.

Yeah, it went away about a year ago... so did my D90 SW....sold 2, and have added 2 new ones and some more trailers...... I kind of feel like the movie "Speed".... I drop below 10 vehicles, and something bad happens to me. :?

Truck is fine, runs great, but a rust spot is now appearing at a seam.
I plan to go to a professional bodywork repair shop this winter: I still have to fix rust spots at doors, and so will tackle the seam issue too.

Hi Ugo
Glad everything is fine. How is the auto box? I had heard they were sluggish. Even with the 5 speed, they don't get up and move until 2200rpm.
The rusty door bottoms is a sure thing with these Swedes  . especially the rear . You need to either post some pics of your truck or email me some.... so I can show the Pink Cow how her sister is doing since leaving the cold north

Cheers
