MOT Test (UK) Class 4 to Class 7 Changes coming soon
For Scottish Pinz and others, I just picked this up on a Landrover website, if your Log book (V5) says your Pinz,s top weight is either 3000kgs or above, you will need to have a class 7 MOT, much more involved and expensive. Changes come in November I think. I don,t know what weight mine is registered at, because I haven,t had the V5 back yet.
Aiming to introduce UK Politicians to Piano wire and Lamposts!

You've raised an interesting point there Dreadnought. Whereas the 710M I had previously came under a class 4 and could be tested at any MOT station, the 712 has always been down as a class 7. Previous owners MOT certs. verify.
This is a bit of a pain, as you have to suss out testing stations that are capable of doing a class 7. My last test was £50.00p which is the going rate for a Class 4 around here.
Just dug out my V5 which doesn't really help matters. The "Revenue Weight" is blank (?). I don't know without delving into the bumf what a 712M is. Mine will be heavier as it has a bespoke body with built-in 3kw genny.
A trip to my nearest Public Weighbridge might be in order !

Hi Phil. Dale sends all his to A.G.Barr in Lanark. I went there last time. It's about 25 miles from here. I'd like to find somewhere nearer. The BIG advantage with Barr's is that they know Pinz's inside out. The main man there is a decent bloke too.
There is always the risk I suppose that I find somewhere nearer, but they haven't a clue ie. try and put it on a rolling road etc.
Just wondering why I haven't got a weight on MY V5 ? I looked up the emmisions for mine in the Govt/VOSA site a while back in anticipation for another big rise in vehicle excise duty. Result = 0% Mmmmm. So it'll be tax free then ?? Sure.
Will sniff out a weighbridge !
