Fat Fab back for round 2

Post by Andre »

I left home yesterday at 11am cdt and am now in Phnx at the pinz Dr. getting the work truck resurrected.

I've only got about 2 weeks of work so if anyone is interested in my services, get hold of me soon or it will be scheduled for next year.

Looking forward to breaking bread with friends.

Fuel cell or larger capacity tank? Either way, when you figure out what it might run, please post or shot me a pm, because I'm probably interested.

Cheers,

Andy

Andre,
any experience or ideas for a front skid plate, something that might attach to the front rib? I've dented my footwells several times..
Anyone else have one or ideas/pixs?

If this leaves too many spaces in between for damage. I would suggest covering the pipes with 14ga steel sheet or better. this would disburse the impact across the span of the floor pan rather than take the impact..

I can also repair the floor pan prior to protecting it with piping.

just let me know if you need me.

Here is the gas tank with stone protector that Andre did for me.
Only thing I'd ask Andre to do differently would be the placement of the tank drain so that I could access it without removing the protector.
Not a big deal, really.

When I put in the new gas gauge, the instructions said to zero the gauge with the tank empty.
I siphoned it dry, pumped it dry, (it filled up my Toyota and Suburban tanks) ran it for an hour and still couldn't empty it completely.
As it happened, Andre made it the same depth as the original, the gauge didn't need to be zero'ed.
Worked just fine after all.
It holds at least 35 gallons.
(Note: the bumper might look a bit proud from the side, but is designed so that the windshield folds into it perfectly!)

That is just absolutely beautiful. But, dang it, now I want the bumper and the exoskeleton too.

Very nice looking 712. Makes mine look downright shabby.

Thank you kindly for the pics. A 35 gallon tank would be great, except when you are at the gas pumps.

Cheers,

Andy

Andre,
really nice work indeed!
I have a T-Lo front bumper and side rail protection from Tim in Az., both of which I like alot.
I'm looking for something to tie in to these or as a stand alone piece, was thinking of some plate-like arrangement that could attach to the central front frame rib for better front foot protection. Ideas?
thanks, Michael
