Naw, it's no big deal; I'm a Bosun on cargo ships and we do that sort of thing all the time to match our scheduled arrival time. Sometimes ships will even zig-zag in order to peel off some speed. I miss working on the car-carriers, those are fun; nice ports and lots of interesting vehicles to look at.
Yeah, I guess you can't just pull into a rest stop! I just thought it looked funny for a ship that regularly goes to a certain port to blow by it and have to turn around and go back! Like his wife was sitting next to him, holding the map.
When I was watching mine it went out of range and I was like what did it sink or something some how it got delayed a day or 2 enroute.
