Introduction - SWPA Member / President

Post by Gozar »

Hi everybody - just thought I would take a minute to introduce myself.

I'm the President of the Southwest Pinzgauer Association - this is a belated intro, I was elected (well, everyone else took a step back while I was not paying attention) back in November last year.

I haven't been very active on the forum, but I have been lurking and have learned a lot about my truck. One thing I've learned is that there are some good Pinz owners around who are willing to help a noob with his truck!

I bought my 1971 710M in December of 2011.
It's been fairly trouble-free, although I did have the driveline balancing done last summer.

I look forward to interacting with you on the forum, and hopefully out on the trails.
BTW, our Treffen is scheduled for October 18-20 this year, hope to see you there!

Will SWPA be at the Overland Expo in May?
Do you have any events planned for Pinz owers that may be coming?
I, unfortunately, can't make it but will be there next year!

Mike from SWPA will be there - I am iffy due to a conflicting trip that I planned.
We have been talking about it in our meetings, but don't have anyone really committed to go other than Mike.
Mike (aka 4x4Pinz) is planning a few days of trail runs leading up to the event - going from Phoenix to the Event at Mormon Lake, AZ.
Pretty sure he has done a post about this somewhere on this forum - I am going to have him reply here as well.

I am going to be at the Expo it is just a matter of what route I take. Not getting a response from the out of town folks, so I am not sure what route to take. Wanted to get the route planned and verified before the trip. Any trails in northern Az are subject to closure depending on weather conditions. So far not too bad but it only takes one good storm. Depending on Mark's take I might have to alter the route to suit his home away from home also. I am giving the respondents until the end of this month to commit or I am going to just plan on the locals going. Not a lot of time left to get out and run the desired route before the expo.
