Fullly restored Pinzgauers?

Post by Andre »

Has anyone else ever heard of this company? What kind of work are they doing and for what cost? Are they dealing with defense contracts or private parties?

I believe there was a discussion about them on here about a year ago or so.

Ricardo is a MONSTER of a company. They work for virtually every auto/truck manufacturer and from Formula 1 to massive trucks. If a company wants a new body, transmission, interior, engine... virtually anything, they can do it worldwide. Think Lockheed Martin of transportation.

So after reading the prior posts, I share the same opinion of the majority. Just don't look wright. Still no word on what this service costs to the end user.

I'm guessing that for those guys much over 6' tall, that taller windshield looks just fine. Especially if they ever want to see the horizon or much above it.

But remember, there are lots of Prius drivers who wouldn't want to be caught dead in anything as ugly as a stock Pinzgauer. Each to their own. I prefer the stock look.

IIRC, some guy in Texas raises the original Pinz windshield up and adds vents below it, to get a higher view.

Do they sell them for the Pinz?

So far the only wheels I have found are Cepek at over $500 a wheel or Spyderlock who does not answer phone or E-mails.

The only other time I saw a set of those wheels was as an option on the TD Austrian military 718 Ambulance that SAV recently sold. They may still have those rims if the person who bought that AMB didn't want them. http://www.pinzgauer.com/shpics.php?tab ... =131&cat=1

Try Shropshire Gun Bus in the UK for Hutchinson rims.

Do the TD use the same rim size, offset and bolt pattern?

NO...The 710/712 and the 716/718 bolt patterns are different.
The 716/718 does have the same pattern as the G Wagen.
