Canada did the same with a lot of our Iltis. We also transitioned to the G-Wagon while over there.

Since you Yanks (and Nato) were kind enough to bring most of our equipment over, maybe we had no choice but sell!!

It's a racket. BAE, General Dynamics, American General and Oshkosh get their piece of our tax flesh, and the politicians in their districts get their lobbyist money. DoD gets a bigger budget and new toys.
