Cool, random story
A guy came up to me today to talk about the Pinzgauer. He's an immigrant from Sri Lanka and they had 710Ms and 710Ks there when he was in the military in the 70s. He described an exercise during basic training: One guy would be in a Pinz, stopped but pointed down a straight road. There would be targets just off the road; one to his left and one to his right. Down the road a couple hundred meters, another guy would be in the prone position with a rifle, facing toward the Pinz but also just off the road. When the exercise began, the guy driving the Pinz would take off, going down the road and getting up to 30 kph. When given a signal, the guy laying on the ground would shoot the target on the same side of the road as him, then roll into the middle of the road, let the Pinz run over the top of him, roll off to the other side, and shoot the other target. He said it was scary as hell at the time -- in either role! -- but it got him used to working under pressure and now it's one his fondest memories (which may tell you something about life in Sri Lanka during the 70s, LOL). He took a bunch of pics to show his kids. I thought it was a neat story and figured I'd pass it along. Will

You'd want to hope the road springs were in good condition and not sagged
