UPDATED: Easy/Cheap Dual Note Horn
I found a Hella 24v horn on Ebay and bought it. After trying it, it's a really high tone. Not really any louder than original one. I thought about using both for a "dual tone" effect, but don't want to fry a relay or something.

Works great, sounds great!

I bought this a while ago, never have liked the Pinz horn, thought it was just too weak, and kind of low toned. Sounded like a sick nanny-goat to me. So I got one of these. It sounded just as bad, as it was a very high tone, not fitting a beast like a Pinzgauer.
I decided to try them together. Sounds really good and no breakers are tripping. Has that dual note effect now. Not an air horn but not bad for 20 bucks. Best thing was there is already a threaded bracket just to the right and above the stock horn location, and the bracket that comes on the horn makes it ift perfect in that spot. Some OD green paint and it's good to go!

That would be the location for the horn when you have the blackout light.Best thing was there is already a threaded bracket just to the right and above the stock horn location
I think it is funny that the pinz horn is so weak but it sounds like a train horn compared to the one in my Isuzu NPR. Must be a cab forward thing.

Horn wiring
Did you wire in series or parallel?
Re: Horn wiring
Series. Just added one more slide on connector to the existing one.grayroad wrote:Did you wire in series or parallel?

add on horn wiring
I got the same $20 horn. I piggy- backed the existing wires...I guess that's wired in parallel. It's very loud now! Not anemic anymore! Still kinda high pitched but nice for $20.
