As a Sub-Committee member I'm in charge of the Demonstration area, in which we talk about winching, recovery equipment and various aspect of 4WDriving throughout the day.
We set up the Demo area on the Saturday (the Show is on the Sunday) and we begin be digging two deep holes that "swallow" diagonal wheels on LR Discoveries and Defenders, to the degree that they lift wheels.
Naturally after digging the holes we all have a "play" and I thought it was interesting to see the difference between the way a Disco/Defender and a Pinzgauer tackle the "holes".
Whilst the Pinny doesn't have the articulation that the LR's do, the rear wheel setup on the 712 simply allow the vehicle to "bridge" most of the holes and make the display look far less spectacular than the LR's.
It's an interesting comparison!
