Where to install oil temp sender?

Post by michaelh712 »

I'm installing my guages and can't find a good location for the oil temp sender. An older post suggested in the thermostat housing, but the probe is too big.

Suggestions?

thanks,
Michael

OK, Solved!
I pulled the thermostat/oil cooler and found a "bung" (thick casting) just below the port for the oil pressure sender light. Man, that thermostat is MASSIVE! I was barely able to fit the oil temp sender into the hole I drilled and tapped, and the guage is working great. Needed some help from my friend JB WELD to make a flat surface (amazing stuff, wouldn
t leave home without it). Now, to set some baseline temps and pressure readings.
